Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Professional Staff Nurse to join our Medical Oncology team at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Hillman Cancer Center. Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting, focusing on medical oncology patients undergoing treatment and infusion therapies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients.
  • Administer medications, perform various procedures, and utilize advanced technology to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless transitions and comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A minimum of 6 months of RN experience in an acute or ambulatory setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Oncology experience and IV skills are highly desirable.
  • The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
