About This Role:

At Tempus, we're passionate about advancing the healthcare industry through precision medicine. As a Lab Operations Specialist, you'll play a critical role in supporting our laboratory teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with sample movement and tracking throughout the laboratory, ensuring seamless workflow and efficient sample management.
  • Manage working queues in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for multiple lab teams, streamlining data entry and reducing errors.
  • Collaborate with lab teams to gather and consolidate samples for project requests, maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.
  • Track and manage sample storage, adhering to strict protocols and regulations to ensure sample integrity.
  • Perform routine workflows with minimal supervision, demonstrating autonomy and problem-solving skills.
  • Work collaboratively with lab team members to meet sample turnaround times, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
  • Contribute to maintaining CLIA/CAP compliance through documentation assistance, ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Approach work with safety and diligence, following laboratory safety requirements and protocols.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness, including cleaning floors, labware, and disposing of biohazard materials.
  • Perform general lab maintenance and upkeep, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements:

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • 0-2+ years of clinical laboratory experience, with a strong foundation in laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of CAP regulations and laboratory SOPs.
  • Experience with laboratory safety and training, with a focus on problem-solving and communication skills.
