About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Electrical Engineer with expertise in transformer design and repair to join our team at Integrated Power Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and consultation to our Sales Team and customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful engineering projects and contribute to the future of our industry.

The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for transformer construction, design, and functionality, as well as experience in both shop repairs/remanufacture and field service repairs/troubleshooting. You will provide proactive communication to troubleshoot transformer issues and make repair recommendations, ensuring that repair/remanufacture/field service solutions meet customer expectations and applicable industry standards.

In this role, you will perform failure analysis on various types of transformers, process customer RFP's/RFQ's, develop repair/remanufacture work scopes and cost estimations, and reverse engineer transformer mechanical and electrical designs. Additionally, you will lead R&D exercises to develop novel engineered solutions, draft and review project status updates, final repair or project reports, and factory certified test reports.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree
  • 20+ years' experience with transformer design, rewind, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to analyze transformer factory test reports and provide critiques
  • Ability to perform various calculations involving transformer turns, iron/copper-loss, energization inrush current, and similar transformer components
