Job Summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing complex MRI procedures, reviewing and evaluating requisitions, and identifying patients according to hospital policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Complex MRI Procedures: Conduct scheduled and emergency MRI procedures, utilizing advanced imaging techniques to capture high-quality images.
  • Review and Evaluate Requisitions: Assess patient charts, determine appropriateness of procedures, and abstract data to ensure accurate and efficient imaging.
  • Patient Identification and Safety: Identify patients according to hospital policy, utilizing two identifiers to ensure accurate patient care.
  • Equipment Selection and Technical Parameters: Choose appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy, ensuring optimal image quality.
  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Assess patients' physical and emotional status, develop a care plan to meet their specific needs, and provide exceptional care and service.
  • Communication and Education: Explain examinations to patients and parents, answer questions, and provide education on the magnetic field environment.
  • Quality Control and Data Integrity: Follow MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations, practicing high-reliability communication techniques to ensure accurate and reliable data.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations, perform additional tasks as delegated by manager or Assistant/Chief Technologist, and participate in departmental and hospital meetings.
Requirements
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist - MRI: Possess current registration and licensure in the field of MRI.
  • Associates Degree: Allied Health: Hold an associate's degree in an allied health field.
  • 3 Years of Experience: Have a minimum of 3 years of experience working as an MRI Technologist.
