Job Title: Registered Nurse, Operating Room Inpatient Surgery

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Perioperative Services team at Boston Medical Center. As an Operating Room Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional care to our patients undergoing inpatient surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the operating room, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and their families to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
  • Update and manage patient records, entering and interpreting computerized data as needed.
  • Follow established guidelines and policies to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Assist the leadership team in quality improvement projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Previous OR experience required; 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) required in certain units.
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification required for certain practice areas.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language a plus.
