Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve nutritious, safe, and appetizing meals for patients, families, and staff that support health and recovery.
  • Manage meal preparation and service for all patients, accommodating regular, therapeutic, and modified texture diets.
  • Follow established standardized recipes and IDDSI guidelines while adhering to safe food handling practices.
  • Utilize meal service software to accurately place diet orders for hospital patients based on their preferences, allergens, and nutritional requirements.
  • Comply with the policies and procedures of the Nutrition Services Department, state food regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Collect used trays and utensils from patient care areas and dining facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all equipment and workspaces, including managing supplies of trays, china, and silverware.
  • Set up dining areas with hot and cold food items and beverages according to established guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency in navigating computer systems.
  • Experience in healthcare, educational, or commercial food service environments.
