Job Overview:

Job Requirements:
Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing is required. New hires must obtain a BSN within five years of employment.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification is mandatory. ACLS/PALS certification may be required based on departmental needs. Candidates should possess knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to address complex healthcare needs across various life stages. Up to one year of clinical nursing experience is preferred. Previous experience in a cardiac cath lab or procedural setting is essential.


Key Responsibilities:
Exhibit organizational accountability. Identify personal improvement areas through self-assessment and peer evaluations. Assume leadership roles on the unit as necessary. Collaborate with instructors to enhance student learning experiences. Demonstrate knowledge and support for organizational and unit changes. Engage in organizational activities by participating in committees, staff meetings, and councils. Utilize the chain of command appropriately. Foster collegial relationships with physicians and other healthcare team members. Identify opportunities for process enhancement autonomously. Maintain and enhance current practices. Evaluate patient care plans based on optimal outcomes. Document patient and family responses to care, including educational efforts.

Work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, including physicians, to adjust care plans as necessary.

Supervise care delegated to other healthcare team members.
Implement care plans for patients. Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment while respecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.

Develop care plans grounded in ethical principles as outlined in the TriHealth Code of Ethical Business and Professional Behavior.

Act as an advocate for patients. Provide care in a manner that is non-judgmental and sensitive to patient diversity. Seek available resources to assist in ethical decision-making. Prioritize workload according to patient needs and unit requirements. Recognize emergency situations, alert appropriate personnel, and initiate emergency measures. Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients and families. Complete initial assessment tools and document ongoing assessments per unit guidelines. Communicate assessment findings to other healthcare providers as appropriate.
Perform technical skills in accordance with policy and accepted standards. Safely administer medications and treatments while monitoring their effects. Utilize all equipment safely and appropriately.
Plan care for patients and families based on assessments, standards of care, and desired outcomes. Initiate and customize patient care guidelines or clinical pathways. Update care plans as needed based on patient and family input and healthcare requirements. Develop both short- and long-term goals with patients, families, and the healthcare team, including discharge planning. Communicate care plans effectively to others.
