The Flexographic Printing Press Technician is tasked with setting up and operating the printing press to manufacture labels and related products.

This role includes onsite training and provides an opportunity to acquire a valuable skilled trade within the printing sector. Employees will experience unlimited growth potential and the chance to advance their careers continuously.

Hours:
Thursday - Saturday 5am until 5pm (12 hours)

Responsibilities:
Interprets job orders and loads dies into the press, installs print cylinders on the shaft, and positions print cylinders within the press.

Prepares ink pans, screens, and pumps with specified inks.

Operates the press, adjusting speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder as required.

Engages print cylinders; modifies printing impression as necessary, aligns print cylinders lead-to-lead, and runs down the approval strip.


Extracts a sample from the printed roll, inspecting for defects such as misalignment, missing impressions, ink starvation, or color discrepancies, making adjustments as needed.

Maintains cleanliness of plates, print cylinders, and dies as required, and performs routine maintenance tasks.

Mixes inks to achieve and sustain desired colors and viscosity.

Ensures work areas are organized and adheres to housekeeping standards.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

A minimum of one year of experience operating a flexographic printing press is preferred.

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Must be capable of reading and interpreting rulers, scales, and other measurement tools.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently walk.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.

Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
