Gallo Mechanical is seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our team. As a Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and piping systems and equipment for various industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret job specifications, plans, and blueprints to understand the work to be done.
- Select and prepare the necessary materials for each job.
- Inspect the work site to identify potential obstructions and ensure safe installation.
- Plan the installation sequence to avoid conflicts with other construction activities.
- Cut, grind, thread, and bend pipes according to job specifications.
- Assemble and install various metal and non-metal pipes and fittings.
- Join pipes and secure them to structures using clamps, brackets, and hangers.
- Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience as a pipe fitter with experience in commercial plumbing.
- Basic math skills, including geometry and trigonometry, to make calculations for work.
- The ability to read and utilize the Pipefitter's Blue Book.
- Physical stamina to work in diverse conditions, including mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock.
