ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Risk Analyst will engage with intricate portfolios, overseeing margin and options requirements (complex strategies) through active monitoring, including adjustments based on credit profiles and risk limits. Collaboration with various departments is essential to ensure adherence to risk management protocols, supporting the overall stability and integrity of our services and portfolios.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain internal risk ratings and credit limits for clients, making necessary adjustments based on credit outlook changes and desired exposure levels.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers and trading counterparties, conducting thorough due diligence and preparing credit analyses.
  • Structure complex transactions and develop credit documentation to effectively mitigate risk.
  • Work closely with Risk, Operations, Stock Loan, and Treasury departments to deliver timely credit decisions while ensuring compliance with established credit policies.
  • Conduct daily assessments of portfolio risk across a diverse client base and various asset classes.
  • Develop risk offerings and initiatives to enhance our risk management capabilities.
  • Provide risk management solutions related to margin financing and leveraged trading.
  • Assist in the creation of internal and external reports focused on client-related risk information.
  • Address client-specific inquiries on a daily basis.
  • Participate in general firm risk assessments, including operational risk evaluations.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in risk analysis, preferably within the financial services sector or at a correspondent clearing/broker-dealer firm.
  • FINRA Series 7 License required (or willingness to obtain).
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of quantitative analytics and statistical modeling.
  • Understanding of value at risk and computational methodologies.
  • Familiarity with gamma in relation to option price movements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with SQL for managing large datasets is preferred.
  • Knowledge of R or Python is a plus.
