Job Summary

Tate Engineering Systems INC is seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing operational issues with industrial HVAC systems, as well as performing new equipment installations, start-ups, and warranty repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair operational issues with industrial HVAC systems
  • Perform new equipment installations, start-ups, and warranty repairs
  • Identify sales opportunities for the sales department
  • Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Attend required vendor training and company-sponsored classes
  • Maintain truck stock inventory and repair parts
  • Maintain company vehicle in clean manner and drive safely
  • Maintain a clean driving record as per Tate's Fleet Policy
  • Assist inside service or sales by identifying Technician Lead as applicable
  • Prepare and submit accurate service tickets for all work performed on a daily basis
  • Assist with training less experienced personnel
  • Maintain records concerning time, labor, and materials and logs of tasks performed
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Inspect, repair, modify, and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, evaporators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and ancillary equipment
Requirements
  • High school diploma and minimum of five years related experience and/or training or equivalent of education and experience in installation and service
  • Complete knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC Units installation and service
  • Experience with DX, Split, CRAC, Cooling Towers, and Chillers and comfort cooling is preferred
  • Valid Driver's License, Apprentice HVAC License; HVAC Journeyman License required and Universal EPA Certification
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
Work Environment
