Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Douglas County. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and documenting patient information.
- Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop strategies to address these needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Diploma from an accredited college or university in nursing.
- Current Nebraska nursing license or from a compact state recognized by the Nebraska Board of Nursing.
- Basic life support/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Experience in a healthcare environment, including acute care, skilled rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and/or long-term care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Work is generally performed in a healthcare facility. Noise level is usually moderate to loud. Work hours are typically standard day-shift hours; however, schedules may vary. Work involves potential exposure to biohazards and risk of injury from distraught individuals. Work may be stressful when dealing with time constraints, multiple/changing priorities, limited resources, emergency situations, and uncooperative/irate individuals.
Work requires some physical activity, including extended periods of standing, walking, bending, frequent reaching, and occasional sitting, kneeling, climbing, stooping, crouching, and balancing. Work also requires the ability to frequently lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds of force with grip strength of 65 pounds.
Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing, and touch. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges, include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges. Incumbent must possess hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment.
