Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of patient specimens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional client service by responding promptly to internal and external client inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process patient specimens for add-ons and send-outs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies in reports by consulting with technical and managerial staff.
  • Understand specimen requirements for lab testing and provide accurate results.
  • Notify clients of STATs and Criticals, and respond appropriately to Critical values.
  • Assist in tracking and monitoring send-out tests.
  • Participate in job competency/skills check program and maintain professional/technical knowledge through reading professional publications and attending continuing education seminars.
  • Work closely with laboratory personnel to ensure timely client service and accurate test results.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Laboratory experience as a LAS or LA role preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Proficient use of computers and ability to quickly learn new information systems and software.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
