Senior Architect Opportunity at Clark Nexsen

Clark Nexsen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect to join our team. As a Senior Architect, you will play a key role in leading architectural projects from concept to completion, working closely with clients, stakeholders, and team members to deliver innovative and sustainable design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project teams through the design phases, including programming, concept development, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Develop and implement architectural design solutions, including the creation of design sketches, renderings, models, graphics, and presentation materials.
  • Participate in the bidding and construction administration of projects, including jobsite visits, review of submittals, and responding to contractor questions.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, owners, users, team members, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Concurrently lead multiple projects at various stages of design and construction.
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and continuous learning.
  • Mentor junior design staff in their professional development.
Requirements:
  • Professional degree from a NAAB-accredited Architecture program.
  • 10+ years of professional experience.
  • Fully licensed Architect in at least one US state.
  • Familiarity with United Facilities Criteria (UFC) as they relate to design of DoD and government facilities.
  • Experience in the design of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and spaces with Radio Frequency (RF) shielding is preferred.
  • Experience with both Design/Bid/Build and Design/Build project delivery methods.
  • Ability to gain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Additional accreditations supporting the firm's commitment to design and continued personal growth (LEED AP, WELL, etc.) will be given special consideration.
