Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Kirkwood, NY. As a Master Level Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Perform advanced skilled level repairs, including major engine repairs and diesel after treatment
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Coach and mentor other technicians
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or technical certification, preferred
  • Basic tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Four (4) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly pay: $31.00 per hour
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
  • Sign-on bonus: Ryder pays $2500 at 30 days and $2500 at 90 days
