Key Responsibilities:
The HVAC/R Apprentice supports the installation team by executing tasks safely, promptly, accurately, and professionally, adhering to customer specifications, relevant building codes, and proper piping practices.
Essential Duties:
Assist in the installation of equipment as per project specifications under the guidance of a senior technician:
HVAC:
Installation of air handler drains, piping for split systems, overhead duct hangers, and ductwork.
Refrigeration:
Installation of display case drains, walk-in box drains, overhead hangers, and piping.
Conduct all assigned tasks safely and responsibly.
Utilize power and hand tools, powered vehicles, machinery, and PPE as directed by company policies.
Promptly escalate any issues or concerns (safety, quality of work, etc.) to senior technicians or project managers.Maintain clean and professional job sites/work areas. Properly store, disassemble, or dispose of all spare and waste materials generated on job sites.
Provide assistance and support to senior technicians on site.
Execute all responsibilities with integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Installation of various piping types including PVC, copper (brazing), and copper line sets.
Qualifications:
Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma, GED, or completion of a trade program or technical school.
Preferred: 1+ years of experience in construction, refrigeration, HVAC, or related trades.
Preferred: Ability to operate a scissor lift or forklift.
Knowledge of job site safety and adherence to safe work practices.
Ability to use basic power and hand tools including drills, fuel gas tools, electrical meters, and measurement tools.
Dependability and punctuality are essential.
Ability to work in various conditions, including scaling ladders, outdoor environments in varying temperatures, and noisy settings.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from senior technicians.
Understanding and adherence to all company policies and applicable laws.
Good driving record.
