Cascade Spine Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the PreOp/PACU department. As a key member of our perioperative services team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our mission to deliver exceptional patient experiences.
Job SummaryThe RN PreOp/PACU is responsible for providing safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. This role requires a strong nursing background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver indirect and direct patient care according to established standards, taking into consideration the age and risk factors of the patient.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of the patient using the nursing process.
- Follow policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for pre- and post-operative nursing care according to accepted standards.
- Organize and prepare medical records of patients, document care appropriately, and follow up on missing data and other patient care needs.
- Maintain and demonstrate current skills and knowledge of intravenous therapy, medication administration and effects, patient assessment, airway maintenance, patient teaching, emotional/social support of patients and families, and other needed clinical competencies.
- Use nursing judgment in decision-making and act as a patient advocate in meeting his/her physical and psychological needs.
- Perform patient assessment and reassessment immediately upon admission and on a regular basis in accordance with standards of care with documentation of these assessments as a basis for planning each patient's care.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (associates or bachelor's degree).
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years total RN experience.
- Current Oregon License as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS & ACLS.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- The ability to provide exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and staff.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Prefer experience with medical software programs such as Advantx, Amkai, or Epic.
- Full range of physical mobility (position requires sustained sitting, standing, stooping, lifting as much as 50 lbs., carrying, repetitive motions, reading, answering phones, etc.).
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to problem solve with minimal direction or guidance.
- Consistent, reliable attendance.
- Efficient use of resources.
- Willingness to maintain a clean, organized environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable means of transportation.
