Electronics Systems Engineer

Leidos is seeking an Electronics Systems Engineer to work in a dynamic team environment supporting various military programs. This remote position could be based out of the Fort Cavazos, TX area, with about 50% travel throughout the Southern United States.
About the Position
This role will involve working as part of a team to design, develop, and maintain complex electronics systems for military applications. The successful candidate will have experience with radio frequency (RF) technologies and be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues within tight deadlines.
The primary focus of this position will be to ensure the smooth operation of RF-ITV read nodes within the assigned area of responsibility, maintaining an Operational Readiness (OR) Rate of 95%.
Responsibilities
* Install, upgrade, replace, and maintain RFID hardware and software to integrate RFID nodes into local military commands' networks and ensure interoperability/sustainability.
* Provide independent oversight and responsibility for RF-ITV read nodes within the assigned area of responsibility, ensuring an OR Rate of 95%.
* Use various reporting/collaboration/communications tools such as the RF-ITV In-Transit Visibility (ITV) Portal, Integrated Support System (ISS), the ITV Global Helpdesk, and the Daily ITV Report to analyze system health and determine solutions for problem areas.
* Respond to system outages, resolve problems within the specified time frames, and record all progress in ISS Service Management Tickets (SMTs).
* Ensure compliance with all local command procedural and policy requirements.
* Independently perform Global Operations missions, including site surveys, installations, site de-installations, formal classroom training, and informal military exercise training, and provide a Gov't customer report deliverable upon completion of each event.
* Configure Field Data Units (FDUs) with a baseline that includes a Windows operating system, RFID applications, Remote Desktop Management software, security policies, and patches.
* Inform team members of new or innovative solution designs so these approaches can be implemented across the program.
* Provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations on RF-ITV infrastructure within the assigned area of responsibility.
* Apply in-depth technical knowledge of active RFID wave propagation and understanding of ISO Over-the-Air protocol and collaborate with other FSEs to discuss and validate solutions ideas.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree and 4-8 years of applicable experience, Master's degree with 2-6 years of applicable experience, or 12+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
* Current driver's license, own vehicle, and ability to drive continuously for up to four hours.
* Ability to climb a ladder or ascend at least 25 feet in a lift (bucket) truck.
* Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of operating and troubleshooting hardware and software.
* Possess at least a DoD Directive 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Remote Management Software, Windows 10/11, and Antivirus Software.
Salary Information
The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $80,000 and $88,000 per annum.
