Instrumentation Technician Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Insight Global. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation systems, programming skills, and experience with Siemens systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate complete systems and components, including control programming software/tools, computers, communications networks, and software.
  • Work with engineers and other groups on the design, installation, modification, and performance of new systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and functional analysis of all systems, including the ability to work with software and control level wiring (less than 50 volts).
  • Install, configure, and use software to complete instrumentation tasks.
  • Start up and commission new instrumentation systems, document startup and testing procedures for new and existing equipment.
  • Repair equipment such as appliances, Building Management Systems (BMS), lighting, alarm systems, and other process controls.
  • Maintain critical spare parts, analyzers, and equipment under management.
  • Record all work performed in CMMS (Maximo), including status, log notes, associated hours, and failures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Transport various supplies, parts, and building materials and deliver to appropriate locations as required.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in the trade, working with automation systems.
  • 3+ years of experience programming with Siemens or other programming language.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), lighting, alarm systems, and other process controls.
  • Experience in complex mechanical, pneumatic, and computerized systems.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems.

Pay Range: $55 - $61
