Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team at Mt Olive Pickle Company. As a key member of our Outside Production team, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to unload and transport raw materials, as well as performing various tasks to support the production process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a forklift to unload incoming trucks and transport raw materials to various areas of the facility
  • Manually push, lift, or unload raw materials packed in baskets or barrels and dump into bins
  • Operate a forklift to load outgoing trucks with brine stock, pallets, bins, etc.
  • Transport raw materials to and from graders, washers, hydrocooler, bulk unloader, tanks, and other equipment
  • Operate graders, washers, bulk uploaders, hydrocooler, or other equipment to ensure proper operation and raw material quality
  • Clean assigned work areas, including unloading and tankyard areas, graders, hydrocoolers, and washer
  • Participate in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate
Requirements
  • Certified forklift operator
  • High school graduate with additional training preferred
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Basic understanding of addition, subtraction, and multiplication table required
Work Environment

Works outside, subject to wide seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetness from rain or some job tasks. Fumes from diesel and propane forklifts, high brine, hot pepper, and stagnant water. Some contact with oil, grease, rust, brine, and dust. Irritating machinery noise. Gloves, goggles, aprons, ear protection, and steel inserts for shoes available as needed.
