Volkert is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent/Chief Inspector to support our East Texas CEI Operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing construction engineering and inspection programs, ensuring compliance with project plans, contract documents, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex technical field assignments, inspecting construction work and coordinating material tests.
  • Manage project inspection staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Prepare and review Daily Work Reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Resolve quantity disputes with contractors, verify payment schedules, and prepare monthly contractor pay estimates.
  • Attend project progress meetings, providing updates and insights to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in construction management and inspection.
  • Familiarity with TXDOT Specifications, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Working knowledge of AASHTO SiteManager.
  • Extensive knowledge of contract requirements and project records.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
