About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Ryder System. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electronic issues, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and other tasks as required.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic issues, utilizing diagnostic computer systems and other tools as needed.
  • Inspect and repair or replace defective components, ensuring all work is done to the highest standards.
  • Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions.
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines, including safety and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire.
