Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at The Fedcap Group. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary:

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to administer patient care programs, assist with evaluations and treatment procedures, and maintain accurate records of patient treatment and equipment charges.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer Occupational Therapy patient care programs as planned with and directed by an Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures as needed.
  • Follow established departmental procedures and observe safety precautions during treatment implementation.
  • Confer with the supervising Occupational Therapist on a daily basis to progress patient programs effectively.
  • Document patient progress in the medical record and maintain charts according to departmental protocol.
  • Provide written and/or illustrated home exercise programs as appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in departmental staff and team meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatment and equipment charges and submit required statistical and billing information.
  • Write formal progress and/or discharge summary notes to physicians on a timely basis.
  • Communicate regularly with physicians and other Allied Health professionals to provide maximal patient care.
  • Participate in departmental program development and take responsibility for special clinics and programs as assigned.
  • Assist in the maintenance and organization of the work area and equipment, noting safety and serviceable defects.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from a school approved by the AOTA.
  • Registered or eligible for registry by the AOTA.
  • Current license by the State Board of Registration in Medicine.
  • CPR certified or eligibility for certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
