Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Server/Runner to join our team at Sonesta Hotels. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests in a prompt and professional manner, engaging and interacting with them as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu, serving food and beverage orders after checking for correct temperature, appearance, and portions.
  • Operate POS system, ensuring food orders are verified and transmitted in a prompt manner, adhering to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures.
  • Periodically check-in with tables to ensure guests' expectations are being met and exceeded, maintaining proper condition and cleanliness of dining areas, stations, and servicing equipment.
  • Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned, adhering to established safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Adhere to uniform and grooming standards, performing other duties or projects as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a server in a full-service restaurant, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance, standing and exerting fast-paced mobility for entire shift.
  • Food handlers and TIPS certificates required, previous front-facing guest service experience required.
  • Must read, write, and speak the English language fluently, experience with computerized cash registers preferred.
