This role is responsible for planning routes and scheduling resources to optimize resource utilization and increase revenue and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor trip progression and resource utilization in real-time.
  • Utilize Geotab and RyderDrive to ensure drivers are staying on schedule and coordinate with the Driver Manager as needed.
  • Make adjustments to routes that impact driver payroll based on feedback from the Driver Manager.
  • Manage equipment by selecting the trailer and driver for freight and coordinating with the Equipment Manager to select the optimal equipment for operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Assign loads to drivers to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and driver retention.
  • Develop executable solutions to increase revenue or bottom-line financial performance through third-party freight, backhauls, or headhauls.
  • Develop freight/delivery recovery plans for customer shipments when issues arise.
Requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with employees, peers, and management.
  • Strong organizational, follow-up, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work self-directed with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
  • Ability to learn new IT systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Establish and maintain healthy working relationships with customers, vendors, and peers.
Qualifications
  • H.S. diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
  • Four (4) years to Six (6) years or more of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse, or industry-related field.
