About the Role

HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest is seeking a Registered Nurse RN Trauma Educator to join our team. As a Trauma Educator, you will play a critical role in providing education and training to staff on trauma care delivery and regulations. You will also serve as a mentor to staff and provide oversight of trauma program education in the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Assess aptitude and knowledge level of trauma patient care staff throughout the continuum of care.
  • Design and deliver orientation and continuing education programs for trauma staff and members of the medical staff.
  • Provide group and one-on-one learning situations which focus on specific clinical and/or professional topics identified by trauma process improvement.
  • Establish and maintain tracking systems that monitor compliance with the education and aptitude programs for trauma nursing staff and members of the medical staff.
  • Maintain and lead required trauma education programs.
  • Serve as a program and community liaison resource.

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course required.
  • Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse.
  • Associate Degree (Bachelor's Degree Preferred).
  • Previous clinical experience in Trauma acute care setting.
