Job Title: Part-Time Overnight Sleep Research Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Overnight Sleep Research Technologist to join our team at the Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting overnight sleep research recordings, monitoring and tracking research studies to ensure quality control, and performing PSGs and DXA Scans.

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for all overnight sleep research recordings, ensuring quality control and accuracy.
  • Perform PSGs and DXA Scans, and participate in the collection of Actigraphy, Holter EKG Monitor, and other research participant data.
  • Maintain supplies for the sleep laboratory and recording equipment to ensure it is in working order at all times.
  • Collect and analyze biological samples (saliva, urine, blood), with knowledge of phlebotomy desired but not required.
  • Participate in aspects of sleep data management, including updating and maintaining databases, resolving problem data issues, tracking data collection forms, and performing verification procedures.
  • Collaborate with project coordinators, statisticians, clinical investigators, clinical personnel, and other data management personnel to plan and implement sleep data management tasks for research projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) strongly preferred.
  • 1 year related work experience required; 5 years preferred.
  • The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position: Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
