Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Infection Prevention and Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our infection prevention team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective infection control practices to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Infection Control Policies: Create and maintain comprehensive infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections.
- Conduct Surveillance and Monitoring: Conduct regular surveillance and monitoring of infection control practices to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide Education and Training: Provide education and training to staff on infection control practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure effective infection control practices are implemented and maintained.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of infection control activities, including surveillance and monitoring data.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Healthcare professional field or three (3) years' experience in Infection Prevention with current Kentucky Healthcare Licensure.
- Experience: Minimal 2 - 4 years experience in infection prevention and control.
- Certification: Certification in Infection Control preferred.
- Master's Degree: Master's Degree (or equivalent) preferred in Healthcare, Business, or related field.
- Knowledge of National Healthcare Safety Network: Knowledge of National Healthcare Safety Network Patient Safety Protocols and submission protocols preferred.
