Job Summary:

The Senior Audit Manager is a critical role within BDO, responsible for supervising, directing, and reviewing the results of audit client engagements. This role requires expertise in GAAP and GAAS, with a focus on marketing, networking, and business development within an area of expertise. The ideal candidate will have significant supervisory experience and a deep understanding of the audit process, from planning to execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Control Environment:

  • Develop and implement effective internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
  • Supervise the work of audit team members and review workpapers to ensure compliance with professional standards.
  • Identify and communicate suggestions to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures.

GAAP and GAAS:

  • Apply knowledge of GAAP and GAAS to complex accounting issues and provide guidance to clients.
  • Review financial statements and related footnote disclosures to ensure compliance with professional standards.
  • Develop and implement effective audit methodologies to ensure the reliability of financial reporting.

SEC and PCAOB:

  • Ensure compliance with SEC regulations and PCAOB guidelines.
  • Review financial statements and related disclosures to ensure compliance with professional standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the work of audit team members and review workpapers to ensure compliance with professional standards.

  • Provide guidance and training to audit team members to ensure their development and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
  • Active US CPA license or recognized equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of prior relevant audit experience.
  • Proven track record of success in a supervisory role.
