Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by taking responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Utilizing advanced technology, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practices, the RN collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the Transplant Services Manager, the RN conducts thorough assessments of patients' physical, social, and psychological well-being. This includes evaluating cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as necessary.
  • Employing critical thinking, the RN collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare teams to create tailored care plans, ensuring that educational needs are met and that plans are adjusted as required.
  • The RN directs and coordinates the interdisciplinary care team, delegating tasks and ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with established guidelines and professional standards.
  • Evaluates patient responses to interventions by reviewing clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction, making necessary adjustments to care plans to enhance effectiveness.
  • Promotes the nursing profession by participating in the development of peers and integrating legal and ethical standards into daily practice, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current RN License in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • RNs must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within five years of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of critical care experience (ICU, ER, Trauma).
  • Experience in a charge nurse role.
