Job Purpose

The Dental Sterilization Technician is responsible for ensuring that all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, instrument trays are set up, and operatories are prepared for patient use. This role requires attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare treatment rooms for patient use
  • Sterilize and disinfect all instruments and dental equipment
  • Set up instrument trays and prepare materials for scheduled procedures
  • Notify the Office Manager of equipment trouble or safety concerns
  • Attend morning huddles and regular office meetings
  • Participate in continuing education and training seminars
  • Understand and follow HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality
  • Understand and follow state and Federal OSHA laws, infection control, and safety standards
  • Learn and follow Familia Dental's administrative and operational procedures
  • Maintain a professional working environment within the office team
Qualifications/Skill Sets
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand information and follow instructions
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow state-specific rules and protocols
  • Listening skills and ability to follow directions from a supervisor
  • Organizational skills and ability to ensure tools, instruments, and supplies are available and properly set up

Availability/Schedule

Office hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM-7 PM, and Saturday, 9 AM-4 PM

Full-time employment: 30-40 hours per week, 4+ days a week, with availability to work Saturdays as needed
