About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Atrium Health. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, operating MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency, and ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist as necessary.
  • Properly identify and assist patients, preparing them for procedures with a full explanation and documenting on appropriate worksheets.
  • Interview patients for a complete medical history, reviewing in-patients, ER, and outpatients EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical history.
  • Assume responsibility for the exam from beginning to completion, preparing and administering IV contrast according to departmental protocols.
  • Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist if needed, recognizing abnormal anatomy and processing additional images as instructed.
  • Perform basic patient care functions, informing nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiating life support measures as necessary.
  • Perform MRI scanning and assist Physicians/PA during invasive procedures, practicing proper sterile technique and adhering to radiation safety standards.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or active enrollment in a ARMRIT or ARRT registry eligible program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, ARRT or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine with advanced registry from the ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI required within one year of hire.
  • CPR certification required.
