In this position, we seek a professional capable of executing municipal engineering tasks, including the planning, design, and oversight of public infrastructure initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in stormwater management, water and wastewater systems, roadway design, and project oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employ design software, computer-aided drafting, and other relevant tools to plan, design, and secure permits for municipal/public works projects, including water systems (supply, treatment, distribution, and storage), sanitary sewer systems (collection, conveyance, treatment, and disposal), roadway enhancements, and stormwater management.
  • Support local municipalities with plan evaluations, project strategizing, and coordination with regulatory bodies.
  • Draft funding applications, reports, studies, and grants pertinent to municipal/public works initiatives.
  • Conduct construction administration tasks for municipal/public works projects, including procurement, submittals, payment requisitions, and reviews of construction change orders, along with funding disbursement requests.
  • Participate in municipal meetings and public hearings as required.
  • Coordinate permitting processes with local agencies.
  • Execute other related duties as necessary for the successful completion of municipal/public works projects.

Education & Skills

The preferred candidate will hold a four (4) year degree in civil engineering and possess a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD and a demonstrated ability to engage with municipalities and regulatory agencies are essential. A professional engineering license in Maryland or Delaware is preferred, or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months of employment.
