Your duties will include assuring accurate and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment, and specimens, following all laws and regulations in the processing and transportation of laboratory specimens. You will also be responsible for following regulatory guidelines in handling/processing of laboratory specimens, proper patient identification and labeling of all specimens, and effectively communicating with all NMHS staff, patients, and their family members.
In addition, you will be responsible for attending CARES training, using AIDET as applicable, and participating in continuing education programs to maintain and expand your skills. You will also be required to stay abreast of regulatory changes and adhere to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines, as well as comply with appropriate Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guidelines/regulations/laws/statues.
Requirements for this position include a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Science, or a related field, and ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, required within 12 months after graduation from an accredited Medical Technology Program. A valid Mississippi Driver's License and acceptable driving record/history are also preferred.
