Job Overview

As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for our patients. Your expertise in pharmacy operations will enable you to efficiently manage the pharmacy, ensuring accurate prescription dispensing and consultation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, adhering to patient care standards.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, graduate interns, and clerks, ensuring compliance with federal and state legislation, as well as store policies and procedures.
  • Assist customers by escorting them to products, making OTC recommendations, securing out-of-reach products, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Fulfill prescriptions in compliance with laws, regulations, physician orders, and company policies, including retrieving products, counting, pouring, or measuring quantities, affixing labels, and performing final audits.
  • Offer advice and professional consultation, adhering to state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Actively participate in clinical program offerings and respond to telephone requests from customers, physicians, and vendors.
  • Communicate and cooperate with peers, subordinates, managers, physicians, and customers in a professional manner.
  • Ensure timely implementation of company policies, procedures, and programs, and enforce professional and operational standards.
  • Maintain state and federal record-keeping for controlled substances and supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with Federal and State law.
  • Follow laws and company procedures regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party insurance plans, and participate in audits as necessary.
  • Responsible for HIPAA compliance and dispensing of over-the-counter drugs.
  • Access the pharmacy computer to obtain patient records and verify third-party plan parameters.
  • Order products from distribution centers or other sources as necessary, stock pharmacy product orders, and train pharmacy technicians.
  • Maintain inventory levels, rotate stock, and utilize the RX return process.
  • Bag products, affix receipts, and place company stickers on items.
  • Operate the drive-thru box, if applicable, and maintain strict adherence to company guidelines related to personal hygiene, dress code, and Department Appearance Standards.
  • Report to work on schedule and on time, and comply with standard operating procedures for hazardous drug handling.
Requirements
  • Must have a college degree in Pharmacy (BS or PharmD).
  • Must pass the NAPLEX and State MPJE.
  • Must hold a valid state license.
  • Meets all requirements of and maintains status as a Certified Immunizer.
  • Must complete continuing education hours as required by law.
  • Must complete all required state, federal, and company training programs.
  • Ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, copying figures, counting, and recording.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Possess the ability to understand and follow written, verbal, or demonstrated instructions.
  • Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with color vision, depth perception, and field of vision.
  • Must be able to work shifts varying in length and time, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
