Clinical Laboratory Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lab Section Leader to join our team at Harris Regional Hospital. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for carrying a workload commensurate with other staff-level Med Techs. Your expertise will be utilized to perform chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic procedures, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain records of procedure performance, patient results, and quality control in a timely manner.
- Investigate out-of-control runs and implement necessary remedial action.
- Review laboratory reports for extraordinary results and clerical errors before reporting to patient medical records.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and log preventive and remedial maintenance.
- Participate in the development of new procedures and policies.
- Monitor job performance of peers and staff, evaluating performance and initiating personnel actions as necessary.
- Encourage professional development through coaching, in-service education, and outside conferences.
- Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist B.S. (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT/ASCP) with B.S. or B.A. degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Passed Board of Registry examination.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the clinical laboratory.
- Experience and knowledge in supervision of employees.
- Sufficient sight, manual dexterity, and mobility to function efficiently.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods and walk short distances.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. as required.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to remain calm and develop priorities during stressful situations.
