Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Fort Sanders Perinatal Center. As a key member of our OB/GYN team, you will provide high-quality perinatal care to patients under the supervision of a physician preceptor.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
  • Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, consult with other specialists as required, and adjust processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Collaborate with physician preceptor to formulate and review medical protocols.
  • Obtain complete medical history of the patient, identify health hazards in the patient's environment, and consider cultural patterns, economic status, and patient resources in plan of care.
  • Perform appropriate physical exam, obtain laboratory specimens, and analyze objective and subjective data for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Assure treatment and/or plan of care is consistent with established protocols, monitor and ensure accuracy of recording on patient medical records, and maintain all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
  • Refer patient to appropriate services which exceed scope of practice of the practitioner, provide health promotion counseling, and develop patient teaching information.
  • Serve as a resource person for other staff personnel, may supervise clinical staff, and responsible for periodic review of policy and procedures.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Attend meetings as required and participate on committees as directed.
Qualifications
  • Current TN license.
  • Must hold certification as a Women's Healthcare Nurse Practitioner, a Nurse Midwife, or Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • CPR required.
