Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Sourcing: Identify and evaluate pre-owned vehicles from auctions and trade-ins to meet our inventory requirements.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand trends, prices, and demand for used cars, and adjust our purchasing strategy accordingly.
  • Reporting and Data Analysis: Accurately assess and report reconditioning costs when purchasing vehicles at auction, ensuring precise data is provided for informed decision-making.
  • Arbitration and Logistics: Oversee the arbitration process from start to finish, ensuring vehicles are returned to auction when necessary, resolving claims, and coordinating transportation from auction to the dealership.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of proven experience as a used car buyer or in a similar role within the automotive industry, with at least 1 year of experience purchasing vehicles in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Purchase History: Ability to provide recent purchase examples.
  • Knowledge and Skills: In-depth understanding of automotive markets, vehicle appraisal, and sales trends, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
