Job Summary:

Medical Laboratory Technicians/Technologists are responsible for performing tests and reporting results for use in the diagnosis, treatment and/or monitoring treatment of diseases. They operate equipment or instruments necessary to perform high volume, less difficult analytical tests, recognizing instrument malfunction and making simple corrections using preset strategies or notifying a supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing tests and reporting results for use in the diagnosis, treatment and/or monitoring treatment of diseases.
  • Operating equipment or instruments necessary to perform high volume, less difficult analytical tests.
  • Recognizing instrument malfunction and making simple corrections using preset strategies or notifying a supervisor.
  • Performing and recording all quality control procedures required for tests assayed.
  • Recognizing abnormal or unusual test results and following departmental policy for reporting critical values.

Requirements:

  • Licensure as Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist (ASCP)
  • One (1) Year Related Experience (Preferred)
