We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America.

About the Job

This is a full-time, 13-week travel assignment in Fullerton, California. You will work 40 hours per week on an 8-hour shift schedule.

Job Description

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing radiopharmaceutical agents and administering them to patients before using a scanner or camera to capture images. You will also provide technical support to physicians and researchers.

Your tasks will include:

  • Attaining required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
  • Transferring, positioning, and instructing patients in preparation for procedures
  • Operating the scanner or gamma scintillation camera
  • Performing procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist
  • Providing assistance to patients during procedures
  • Ensuring the environment is safe at all times for patients and staff by following safety and radiation disposal procedures
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Understanding and using the McKesson PACS system
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must have:

  • 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • ARRT (N) National Certification with registration in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB-CNMT
  • BLS certification
  • State-specific licensing when required
