The Position

This role supports areas of field service operation within Sungrow USA related to Commissioning, Warranty, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the expanding installed sites in the region. Reporting to the regional field service supervisor, this position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and commissioning support of PV inverters and ancillary equipment/systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical assignments involving the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of string and central solar inverter and/or BESS Systems, PCS, batteries, and ancillary equipment.
  • Perform general troubleshooting and diagnosis under Sungrow's maintenance and repair guidelines.
  • Support and perform pre-commissioning (with and without grid emulator) and commissioning of solar inverters and BESS systems within schedule and work plans.
  • Investigate solar plant issues such as DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients.
  • Provide feedback to the engineering and project team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvements.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Renewable industry experience is desired.
  • Power Electronics experience is desired.
  • OSHA 10 certificate within 12 months of date of hire.
  • NFPA 70e certificate within 12 months of date of hire.
Competencies
  • Strong demonstration of workplace safety practices.
  • Understands and follows a Safety Plan.
  • Comprehend Job Hazard Analysis and conduct level-appropriate Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Designated as Authorized Person for LOTO.
  • Compliant with environmental safety requirements.
