About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Agronomy Research Plot Technician Intern to join our team at Land O'Lakes. As a key member of our agronomy research team, you will assist in the management of regional plots, including farm and drone equipment preparation and operation, seed preparation, equipment transport, field operations, GIS applications, and mapping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and operation of farm and drone equipment, including seed preparation and transport.
  • Execute foliar applications with a backpack sprayer, collect tissue samples, and conduct root ratings and other metadata collection as necessary.
  • Responsible for accurate mixing and application of fertilizer and/or chemicals per blend sheet specifications.
  • Work safely following safety rules, regulations, and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on agronomic products, trends, and precision agriculture technologies.
Requirements
  • Pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in an agricultural-related major or program.
  • General knowledge of regional crop growth and development.
  • Basic math skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver results without direct supervision.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work tasks effectively.
  • Ability to obtain a pesticide applicator's license.
  • Frequently move, lift, and carry boxes, tubs, and tools weighing 50-60 lbs.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons and occasionally stay overnight.
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
