About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Community Engagement Specialist to join our team at Girl Scouts of Alaska. As a key member of our Community Engagement team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community partners, schools, and libraries to increase Girl Scout visibility and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain volunteers, with a focus on increasing Girl Scout membership and engagement.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, and libraries to promote Girl Scout programs and services.
- Collaborate with local schools and community-based youth organizations to increase Girl Scout visibility and engagement.
- Generate qualified youth and adult volunteer leads through outreach and recruitment efforts.
- Travel throughout the council region to meet with community partners and promote Girl Scout programs.
Requirements:
- 2 years of successful experience in volunteer recruitment and retention, preferably in a non-profit or community-based organization.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the mission and goals of Girl Scouts of Alaska to the community.
- Strong technical skills, with experience in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn new proprietary technology.
- Access to a reliable automobile and a valid driver's license.
