We are seeking a highly motivated Program Facilitator Specialist to join our team at New Life Centers of Chicagoland NFP. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing high-quality programming for adult and children shelter residents.

About the Job

The Program Facilitator Specialist is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, temporary (exempt, benefits available) and will take place at our various shelter locations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the human services field and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement activities and information sessions on topics such as workforce development, financial literacy, cultural awareness, city transportation, and other relevant subjects.
  • Develop healthy, positive relationships with residents while modeling positive behaviors.
  • Organize group lessons and activities aimed at preparing residents for life outside of the shelter.
  • Provide relevant sessions and maintain awareness of technology barriers, language barriers, cultural differences, and incorporate strategies to meet participants' needs.
  • Offer one-on-one support, encouragement, and help with problem-solving and conflict resolution to residents who demonstrate need.
  • Document session notes and conduct research to create materials and training modules for a diverse shelter audience.
  • Assist other facilitators in addressing challenging situations with residents.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and/or other trauma-informed strategies to address resident needs.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of one year of experience working in the human services field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cross-cultural competency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This salary estimate is based on the national average for similar positions in the Chicago area. Please note that actual salaries may vary based on individual circumstances.
