Job Summary

We are currently seeking a part-time Speech Language Pathologist for our Kansas City, KS region.

This role involves providing treatment of speech and/or language disorders, such as problems with the actual production of sounds and difficulty understanding or putting words together to communicate ideas.

The successful candidate will assess and treat persons with brain injury in areas including language (listening, talking, reading, writing), cognition (attention, memory, sequencing, planning, time management, problem solving), motor speech skills and articulation, and conversational skills.

Your Responsibilities
  • Learn and implement all aspects of Minds Matter, LLC philosophical principles in service delivery.
  • Evaluate consumers' mental abilities, analyzing medical data to determine best therapy methods and strategies.
  • Complete documentation as necessary, including evaluations, progress notes, daily notes, letters of medical necessity, etc.
  • Integrate employment, educational, and independent living goals into therapy.
  • Collaborate with consumers and other professional staff to determine goal achievement.
  • Attend team meetings and assist consumers in goal setting.
  • Provide services only as designated on each individual's authorized plan of care.
  • Select and utilize adaptive equipment and augmentative alternative communication devices, processing home and community environments.
  • Work directly with consumers to improve skills in life goals.
  • Document sessions with consumers, focusing on goal-driven, concise, factual, and clear reporting.
  • Educate and train families and caregivers about brain injury strategies and techniques, communicating goals and progress as needed.
  • Attend trainings and workshops to maintain up-to-date, effective, and evidence-based practice.
  • Maintain a professional rapport with consumers, co-workers, referral agents, and representatives from other agencies and services.
  • Promote public relations throughout the agency and community for the program.
  • Serve on agency and interagency task groups as requested.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information according to HIPAA regulations.
  • Possibly serve as a consumer's team lead, overseeing goal plans and team meeting history forms during team meetings.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
