Job Summary

MyMichigan Medical Center - Alpena is seeking a highly skilled Exercise Specialist to join our team in the Cardiology Department. As an Exercise Specialist, you will play a critical role in the supervision of stress testing and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision of Stress Testing: Under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Director(s), you will supervise stress testing performed in the Cardiology Department, ensuring compliance with our staffing plan and policies.
  • Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation: You will be responsible for supervising patients exercising in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, assessing their condition, and completing necessary office workflow and documentation.
  • Communication and Documentation: You will communicate critical results to appropriate physicians and maintain accurate records of patient interactions and test results.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field is required.
  • Certifications: ACSM-CEP (American College of Sports Medicine Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist) certification is mandatory.
  • Experience: Previous experience in stress lab testing and knowledge of isokinetic testing, evaluation, and functional capacity evaluations are essential.
Additional Requirements
  • Skills Checklist: A current skills checklist, pertinent to the specialty, is required.
  • Supervisory Reference Forms: Two supervisory reference forms, taken within the last two years, are necessary.
  • Licensure and Certifications: Licensure (MI LARA) and certifications (BLS - AHA) are required.
