Pediatric Healthcare Professional: Dynamic Float Pool Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Nurse II to join our Pediatric Float Pool team at Albany Medical Center.
Job SummaryThis is a dynamic role that requires flexibility, adaptability, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in various pediatric settings, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A current RN license in New York State.
- At least 1 year of experience in pediatric nursing or a related field.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
