Marine Underwriter

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Underwriter to join our team at AGIA Affinity. As a Marine Underwriter, you will be responsible for examining commercial marine risks and determining if they are acceptable based on our underwriting guidelines for carrier partners. You will also develop and cultivate new products and opportunities within the marine insurance space.

Key Responsibilities:
• Examine commercial marine risks and determine if they are acceptable based on our underwriting guidelines
• Develop and cultivate new products and opportunities within the marine insurance space
• Build relationships with assigned agents and manage their expectations
• Review and handle policy servicing requests
• Review inspection reports and compare them to information gathered during the underwriting process

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or appropriate insurance designation
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial marine underwriting or a similar field
• Familiarity with commercial recreational marine is a plus
• Product knowledge of marine general liability, hull/P&I, and marine property products
• Regional marine market knowledge
• National marine market knowledge is a plus
• Ability to use company automation, including Microsoft products
• Leadership and team building skills
