Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Per Diem Nursing Assistant to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a Per Diem Nursing Assistant, you will provide direct patient care in a safe and effective manner, working under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide data collection and care appropriate to the age of the patients served, with appropriate Nursing Assistant interventions.
  • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction to our patients by providing activities of daily living, patient hygiene, and assisting with ambulation, toileting needs, and taking vital signs.
  • Respond promptly to patient call lights and maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Qualifications
  • One year acute care experience, or consideration will be made for staff with strong education and associated experiential background.
  • Current AHA Provider Basic Life Support certification.
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certificate or currently enrolled Nursing Student who has successfully completed the first semester of the RN Program (ADN or BSN).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload and establish effective working relationships.
