Our division categorizes the institutions into 3 custody levels, which include minimum, medium, and close.

Salary Range

">

The estimated salary for this position is $ **$61,000 - $82,000 per year**, based on the requirements of the job and the location. The salary will be determined by the department's compensation plan, taking into account factors such as qualifications, experience, and performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

This Correctional Captain II position will oversee subordinate staff, conduct shift line-ups, and inspect assigned staff to ensure they are physically and mentally capable of assuming their posts. Additionally, the successful candidate will complete and review shift time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, incident reports, conduct internal investigations, complete administrative forms, and conduct employee evaluations.

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience as a Correctional Lieutenant or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification by the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission is also required.

Working Conditions

The work environment for this position is in a prison setting with occasional exposure to hazardous conditions. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
